Hi, I'm Rosheen Chaudhry! I am currently a software developer, Co-op at Colgate-Palmolive. At Colgate, I have completed many projects that involve speeding up and optimizing their existing systems. You can see more details about the projects on my resume
I will graduate Rutgers University, Douglass Residential College in May 2016 with a BS in Computer Science. Douglass Residential College is the only "Women's Residential College" in the US which means that it is the only women's college within a larger University.
I am also heavily involved with the women in technology community at Rutgers University. I am a member of the Douglass-Dimacs Computing Corps in which I help expose and encourage middle school girls and girl scouts about the tech field. I do this through teaching CS in an after school club and holding workshops for the girl scouts. I am also a lead events organizer for HackHers, the Rutger's women's hackathon. I assisted in planning and budgeting for events during the hackathon with the help of a small team of people. In addition, I contacted company and academic representatives to give talks during the hackathon
Furthermore, I have taught many technical workshops to the students at Rutgers. I have given talks about HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Git, and much more . Overall, I am very passionate about programming, teamwork, and promoting gender diversity in the technology field.
This is an initiative that involves teaching young girls about Computer Science and programming. We have have workshops for local girl scout troops, teach at a middle school every other week, present our work at the STARS Summer conference, and teach the local community about programming on Rutgers Day.
As an Events Lead Organizer for HackHers, I assisted with budgeting for events, teaching workshops, and contacting company/academic representatives to speak at the hackathon.
